Madrid, Apr 23 (EFE).- Agencia EFE, Spain's
international news agency, on Tuesday launched EFEfuturo.com with the
aim of making it a reference point for information about research,
development and innovation and a meeting place for those who are working
or are interested in science and technology news.
   This is one
of the two legs of the new Web site, which will continue reporting on
science and technology via its regular routes.
   EFEfuturo is
configured as an area of specialized information, with the ability to
project in multimedia format to anyplace in the world - from any point
and in different languages - the key questions about research, space,
humanities, technical devices, videogames and digital leisure
activities.
The Web site gives a decisive push to scientific
and technological content at EFE, the agency that was a pioneer in
creating and maintaining a science and environment section and the first
to launch specialized programs on scientific information for young
journalists.
A team of experts in Madrid and at bureaus throughout Spain and the world makes up the nucleus of EFEfuturo.
The Web site takes advantage of the potential and reach of EFE: a
worldwide network of journalists, with more than 3,000 professionals
working to guarantee 24-hour coverage from more than 180 cities in 120
countries and with four editorial desks: Madrid, Bogota, Cairo (Arabic
service) and Rio de Janeiro (Portuguese service). EFE
